Practicum Opportunities
At Nusura Consulting Inc., we offer enriching practicum opportunities for Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) students. Our practicum is designed to provide hands-on experience aligned with academic studies, career goals, and program objectives. It focuses on research and the experiences of racialized individuals in the criminal justice system.
Practicum Objectives
Integration of Theory and Practice
Apply social work theory in real-world settings to enhance professional practice and identity.
Broader Social Awareness

Typical Activities
Conduct literature reviews and data collection.
Assist with report and manuscript writing.
Shadow interviews and provide therapeutic interventions.

Support policy and practice development.
Prepare presentations and research conference opportunities.
Attend meetings and provide regular updates.
Orientation and Training
Students will receive comprehensive training to familiarize themselves with our policies, procedures, and expectations, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills.
Supervision and Mentorship
Each student will be mentored by a registered social worker who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the practicum.
Performance Evaluation
Regular evaluations will assess student performance and progress with constructive feedback to support professional development.
